Humpback Whale
The Humpback whale inspires great creativity. Look to her for a gentle wise nudge to sing the song of your soul! Turtle represents Mother Earth who swims in the center with the ever changing Butterfly. Orcas power and grace is facing the wisdom of Eagle, combined with deep introspection of Bear. Look for the shy Octopus, and embrace the happiness of the Ladybug. A mature female humpback can be as much as 50 feet long, and weigh up to 40 tons. They were hunted to near extinction, and only about 15% of the original population exists. Now they have world wide protection. Scientists have discovered that humpback whales sing long, complex songs that can last as long as 20 minutes. The song changes gradually from year to year. To hear them sing and to be in their presence is an awesome, intimate experience that I am grateful to have had.
