Mosquito
Mosquitoes are responsible for more human death than any other living creature. Alaska's mosquito population is legendary. Every year, they congregate in hordes that are thickest from the Yukon River north to the Arctic Ocean and torment the Caribou and humans relentlessly. One Native legend tells of a woman who hid in a tree by a lake and when the chief of mosquitoes came along, she laughed at him. Angry, he dove at her reflection and when he got out of the water, he froze to death. They burned his body, and the ashes became hundreds of tiny mosquitoes. The stories vary from Clan to Clan. Look inside to see the Loon and the Bear, who share the earth with Mosquito. Hiding is the happy Ladybug who will bring you happiness!
